Drugs used in Treatment of PD

Although there are many drug treatments available for patients with Parkinson’s, most of the drugs can have serious side effects that are difficult to live with, for more information on what drugs are available and what the side effect are, go to:

How the Drugs work

In non-technical language, the drugs are designed to mimic dopamine that the body would produce in someone who does not have Parkinson’s Disease. Yes, they do achieve that result, but can also produce unwanted side affects. The brain is a very sensitive organ, and when you chemically substitute something into the body and it is not in the same quantities or doses that the body would normally produce; side effects can result. Current Approach

Hope for the future
